It’s a bird, it’s a plane…

An action packed weekend!!

Leaving bright and early on Saturday morning we headed off to La Paz waterfalls!! La Paz waterfall stands at 121 ft tall and is a sight like no other!

La Paz is also home to a small zoo of animals! Toucans, Macaws, Butterflies, Jungle Cats (Snakes and Frogs too 😐 )

Everyone got photos with the incredibly photogenic toucans that insisted on posing! We tried (somewhat successfully) to get photos of the illusive blue butterfly! Some jungle cats looked adorable whilst some sufficiently fierce! And whilst I didn’t pose with the boa constrictor, I did walk through the room of safely enclosed snakes!

We spent the night in Monteverde, a small village in the mountains of Costa Rica. The trip there was long but filled with amazing views of valleys and farms!

The following morning we set off on a zip lining adventure, which contained a zip line of over 1.5km, the longest line in Latin America! We were flying over trees and valleys, and at the end of the course, was a Tarzan swing – an 120ft free fall, similar to bungee jumping! I’m told my scream was one of the funniest, and that I screamed non stop for the free fall!! I still did it though!

It was an amazing weekend and hopefully a sign of what’s to come! We are wrapping up the language week on Tuesday and heading to our volunteer project on Wednesday – so stay tuned for pictures of sea turtles 🙂
